How much is Traian Basescu paid?

The Presidential Administration published a list containing information about how much money its employees are making every month. According to the document, Traian Basescu has a monthly salary of RON 6,706.

Presidential counselors Cristian Diaconescu, Iulian Chifu, Claudiu Dinu, Bogdan Drăgoi, Bogdan Mănoiu and Iulian Fota earn RON 5,363.

State Counselors Gheorghe Angelescu, Carmen Anca Cătănescu, Delia Dinu, Andreia Cristina Iana, Cristian Hriţuc, Răzvan Murgeanu, Dorel Onaca, Bogdan Oprea and Gabriel Cristian Pişcociu are paid RON 4,696 every month.

State counselor Ion Oprisor earns a monthly compensation of RON 4,742, while the salary for a cabinet director in the Presidnetial Administration hovers around RON 4,000.

As irony would have it, Basescu’s salary is one of the smallest presidential indemnities in Europe and Even the world.France’s president has a annual salary of EUR 290,000, while just over the border, Rosen Plevneliev (Bulgary’s President) is paid 4,000 euro every month.
