H&M opens in Suceava

Swedish fashion retailer H&M has expanded its national network to 16 stores after opening an outlet on the grounds of the Iulius Mall shopping center in Suceava this Thursday. Out of this figure, five units were inaugurated this spring and the retailer plans to continue expanding, suggested Carlos Duarte, country manager H&M Romania.

The new outlet has 16 employees. Some 400 people waited outside for the store to opens, according to H&M representatives.

The Swedish retailer reported sales worth EUR 37.3 million (VAT included) between March and November last year from its local stores. H&M is the second largest fashion retailer in the world running about 2,500 stores.

At present H&M runs 16 stores inRomania, six of which are in Bucharest. The other locations are Brasov, Cluj, Timisoara, Oradea, Constanta, Arad, Craiova, Braila, Iasi and Suceava.  The first local H&M store was opened last year in March in AFI Palace Cotroceni.
