The total gross written premiums of Gothaer Asigurare Reasigurari, part of Germany’s Gothaer Group, rose by 90 percent to RON 27 million (EUR 6.1 million) in the first half of the year against the same period, driven by the property arm.
The insurer has written premiums worth RON 9 million (EUR 2 million) in the Casco segment, holding a market share of 1.07 percent in the car segment.
The property segment registered a first half increase of 291 percent in gross written premiums to over RON 12 million (EUR 2.7 million).
Anca Babaneata, CEO Gothaer Asigurare Reasigurari, said: “We continue to develop our business in the retail sector, as well as in the SMEs segment, with a business plan sustained by a clear strategy to reach a consolidated and sustainable volume of written premiums.”
The insurer said it holds an 11.6 percent market share in the agricultural sector but didn’t mention the amount of its portfolio.
Gothaer Group registered a 3.2 percent increase of gross written premiums to EUR 4.1 billion in the first semester, while its profits soared 54.5 percent to EUR 224 million.
