Transport and logistics company GEFCO Romania, controlled by Russian Railways (RZD), Russia’s state railway carrier, has a new CEO, Jérôme Chevrolet, who is taking over this position from Christophe de Korver.

“Romania is already a key country in GEFCO’s regional strategy, becoming an increasingly important hub in the Balkans. Through the five divisions – Overland, Overseas, Finished Vehicles Logistics, WRP and Customs, we try to offer our customers the most innovative multi-modal solutions and I think Romania still has a high growth potential,” stated the new CEO in a press release quoted by Mediafax.

Chevrolet started working with GEFCO group in 2007, where he currently holds the positions of area manager for the Balkan countries and general manager of GEFCO Bulgaria.

GEFCO operates in 150 countries and ended 2013 with EUR 4 billion in turnover. The company was taken over by RZD from the French group Peugeot.
