Businesspeople Cristian and Alina Fughina have confessed that all the allegations in the Ultra Pro Computers file are true, while businessman Laszlo Kiss did not make any statement, according to Mediafax newswire, quoting legal sources.

The Fughina spouses, Kiss and Liliana Anton were detained by the prosecutors of the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), on money laundering and embezzlement charges, the damages being estimated at EUR 10 million.

Cristian Fughina, the former owner of the company that ran Ultra Pro Computers, and Laszlo Kiss were arrested temporarily while in the case of Alina Fughina and Liliana Anton, the court ruled legal supervision.

The other people involved in the file- Caba Sergiu, Caba Cosmin, Mihai Anton, Gheorghe Dilimuţ and Stefan Fughina, the father of Cristian Fughina, are also under legal supervision.

The decision of the Bucharest Court of Appeal is not definitive and can be contested at the supreme court.

According to legal sources, the first to admit the facts was Alina Fughina, after which the lawyer of the family Ana Lavina Vasile-Caba and Cristian Fughina also admitted to the charges. On the other hand, Laszlo Kiss did not make any statements, but he was deconspired by the statements of the Fughina spouses and of their lawyer.

As part of this file, the DIICOT prosecutors together with officers from the Directorate for the Prevention of Organized Crime made 17 searches in Bucharest, as well as in the Vrancea and Ilfov counties at the houses of the members of the group suspected of money laundry and embezzling.

The group is suspected of taking out over EUR 10 million from the accounts of Ultra Pro Computers and transferred into several offshore accounts. The Fughina spouses, his father Stefan Fughina and Laszlo Kiss are suspected of having been involved.

Investigators claim that the Fughina members and businessman Laszlo Kiss have tried to erase the tracks of the illegal activities between K Tech Electronic, the company that managed the Ultra Pro Computers stores, and the four offshore companies, by asking for the insolvency pf the company through which they laundered the money.
