First aid lessons available for smartphones in online and offline mode

The iOS and Android users can now download a free of charge application for first aid, available offline, without the need of internet connection. For online users, the app has also an interactive map that generates a list of nearby hospitals.

First aid app for smartphones was released in August 2012 and is the first of its kind available in Romanian language. Through this application, users of smartphones with operating systems iOS and Android have an useful tool in emergency situations, with which can quickly get information and solutions for the most common medical problems.

In the application, first aid solutions are structured in 13 chapters, available on the main page of the app, which includes an intuitive form of the most common types of medical emergencies and useful information for first aid: 112 reporting procedure, person down, first aid for children, major urgency, Heimlich maneuver, bleeding, fractures, accidents, burns, intoxicated, season emergency, prevention and first aid kit. The most important component of the application is the searching engine. If you are looking for a specific medical procedure, it can provide you appropriate emergencies solutions, after you choose the answer that best fits the given situation. After that, the user will be guided step by step for giving first aid until the arrival of the ambulance.

The technologies used in application development are Sencha Touch 2.0 + and PhoneGap. Since the launch of the app for smartphones in 2012 to October 15, 2013, over 16,500 users have downloaded the lesson for first aid.
