The number of leadership positions in the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) will be reduced by 35 percent, from 161 to 104 employees, after the new management scheme is introduced, a process that will not affect the total number of employees which was 597 at the end of may.

“On May 30 2014, ASF had a total of 597 employees with 161 of them filling leadership positions (department chiefs, directors, assistant directors, employment chiefs). The new management scheme (which will be introduced by October 1) does not affect the total number of employees or jobs, only leadership positions which are cut to 104 (directors and service chiefs). New hires are limited strictly to key functions that will become available during this time”, according to a press release from the financial institution.

ASF believes that introducing the new personnel scheme will be a longer process, based on legal requirements and the collective work contract.

“Maybe in September we will have an estimate of the impact on the total number of employees and ASF budget. All initiatives will be discussed first with the employees”, according to Misu Negritoiu, ASF president.
