The spring has officially settled to our beloved city, so if you didn’t plan anything for the weekend, here is a selection of what’s on the silver screen.

 

Son of Saul

Synopsis: The movie follows a day in the life of Saul, a member of the Sonderkommando, a group of mostly Jewish prisoners that the Nazis forced to help herd people to the gas chambers, burn the bodies and collect gold and valuables from the corpses after, according to the Stone. Bajirao Mastani

Genre: drama, history, romance

Synopsis: A historical account of the romance between the Maratha general, Baji Rao I and Mastani, a Muslim princess. (provided by IMDB)

 

Pattaya

Director: Franck Gastambide

Starring: Ramzy Bedia, Sabrina Ouazani, Franck Gastambide, Malik Bentalha

Genre: comedy

Synopsis: “Pattaya” turns on two underachievers (Gastambide and Malik Bentalha) and their neighbor, a devout Muslim dwarf (Anouar Toubali), who leave their Paris project to travel to Pattaya in Thailand, where they take part in the world championship of Thai boxing for dwarfs. While in Thailand they get together with a pal (played by popular comedian Ramzy Bédia), an expat from their Paris suburb who’s made a fortune in Pattaya. Another well-known thesp, Gad Elmaleh, plays a crazed Thai boxing master (provided by Variety)

 

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Director: John Hillcoat
