Fene Grup changes name to ENGEKO

Romanian construction group Fene Grup will be renamed Engineering and General Constructing (ENGEKO) and will undergo a rebranding process, the company announced. Fene Grup was established by Relu Fenechiu, former Minister of Transport, found guilty of corruption.

“SC Fene Grup SA decided to change the management structure as well as initiating a rebranding process with the first step being change the name of the company to SC Engineering and General Construction (ENGEKO) SA as well as developing a new visual identity”, according to an announcement on the company’s website.

According to data released by the Commerce Registry, the company started by Relu Fenechiu and Lucian Fenechiu is under Globocon’s administration, through Cristian Ghibu (former secretary of state at the Ministry of Transport).

Fene Group is headquartered in Iasi and includes Fene Grup (constructions), Tehnorom (IT&C, security, electrical instalation), La Rocca SRL (construction materials) and Integra Business Consulting (counseling and project design).

The group posted a turnover of EUR 10 million in 2013, according to Cristian Ghibu. At the end of january 2014, the Fenechiu brothers were convicted to go to jail for their involvement in the Transformer File.
