European Fencing Championship won by the Romanian Women’s Epee team

The Romanian Women’s Epee Team has won on June 12 the golden medal at the European Fencing Championship that took place in Strasbourg, France, against Russia, obtaining 38 points, reports AFP.

Ana Maria Brânză, Simona Pop, Simona Gherman and Maria Udrea have fought against Russians Tatiana Gudkova, Violetta Kolobova and Liubov Sutova, who took only 34 points. In semifinals, Romanian team has won against Italy, with 29-24.

The Romanian Women’s Epee Team took the second place at last year’s World Championship, after a final game with Russia’s team.
