Euroins Romania, the insurer controlled by Bulgaria’s Euroins Insurance Group, said that its gross written premiums lost 16.7 percent to EUR 25.2 million in the first quarter against the same period of last year, citing lower revenues in the auto segment, reports Mediafax newswire.
Over 90 percent of the premiums have been written on RCA (the mandatory auto insurance), with revenues losing 15.3 percent to EUR 23.1 million. On CASCO insurance, the gross written premiums fell 19.1 percent to EUR 923,000.
The segment of assets and property insurance registered the biggest loss of 57 percent to EUR 372,000.
The gross written premiums of Euroins Romania rose last year by 13 percent top EUR 115 million.
