DHL launches new terminal in Cluj

Germany’s courier company DHL has inaugurated on Thursday a new operational terminal within the Avram Iancu airport in Cluj-Napoca, in a move designed to improve delivery times in northwestern Romania and increase the parcel processing capacity.

The company said the new investment will also make same day deliveries available in Cluj and neighboring counties and processing duration for international deliveries by up to one hour.

“By continuing its investment plan DHL proves once again its commitment to significantly develop operations in Romania, The business environment in Cluj and in the northwestern part of the country is promising. We will continue to invest in this area, as a key part of our development strategy,” Daniel Kearvell, general manger of DHL Express Romania.

In the last two years, the company added 100 new delivery vehicles and started operating two new cargo planes in Arad and Cluj.

DHL has in Romania close to 500 employees and operates a fleet of three planes and over 200 vehicles.
