Rhenus Logistics made the move to Mercury Logistics Park, owned by Heitman investment fund near the Bucharest-Pitesti highway, where it rented 14,000 sq m, the biggest industrial land deal recorded in Romania this year, according to GS Capital Advisory.

The Germany owned a much smaller space in the Mega Center platform, and has rented the entirety of Unit 1 in Mercury Logistics Park, with a surface area of 14,000 square meters. Mercury Logistics Park has a total area of 34.000 square meters of storage space and Class A office buildings.

“It’s one of the biggest real estate transactions since the start of 2014 and it gives us reason to be confident in a positive evolution of the industrial real estate segment this year”, according to Gabriel Sfetcu, partner at GS Capital Advisory.

The relocation is the first step in a long-term project initiated by Rhenus Logistics Romania who is looking to extend its logistics operation in the entire country.

The value of the transaction and the duration of the contract cannot be revealed to the general public, but the area where Renus is going to relocate usually rents at 3.3 – 3.5 EUR / month. The value paid by Rhenus will probably be smaller, given the total surface area.
