Daimler merges Romanian distribution operations

German car maker Daimler announced it would merge is local distribution arms in a bid to streamline sale and post-sale activities in Romania.

The operations of EvoBus will be transferred to Mercedes-Benz Romania, including the sale of new and used buses and coaches and the retail operations. All employees of EvoBus will move to Mercedes-Benz.

“The merger aims to optimize the structure of our company in Romania, by streamlining the potential and grouping resources in the best way,” said Boris Billich, CEO Mercedes-Benz Romania. He added this move will the company expand the network of authorized service centers for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses outside Bucharest.

EvoBus Romania was founded in 2006, following the tender of the Bucharest public transport company RATB for the acquisition of buses and post-sale services.
