Romania’s Dafora, a drilling company, will handle onshore exploratory drilling for Chevron, the US oil and gas group, in the Barlad area starting this autumn.
Under the four year contract, Dafora will drill wells in accordance with Chevron’s exploration program.
“The F320 (Rig 14) installation will soon complete works on another ongoing project, and will be included in a modernization program to bring it to the parameters required by the client,” said the company in a stock exchange statement.
Chevron is pending final approval to start seeking shale gas in Eastern Romania, in the Barlad concession. The company was awarded three more fields in the Dobrogea region.
Dafora is the leading drilling firm in Romania, working for onshore projects in the oil, gas and geothermal fields.
