The Dacia plant in Mioveni, owned by French carmaker Renault, celebrated on Thursday the production of the 400,000 Duster produced in Romania, which will be delivered to a customer in France, its main export market.

The Duster, Dacia’s SUV model, accounts for 45 percent of the daily production at the its Mioveni plant.

Since launching almost three years ago, Dacia has exported 95 percent of the Dusters it made, mainly in Western Europe.

Dacia’s worldwide sales rose by 4.8 percent to a record high of around 360,000 units last year. Dacia remained the leading carmaker in Romania, although sales plummeted by 28 percent to 22,148 units.
