Dacia gains ground in Great Britain, Germany and France

Car maker Dacia, owned by French Renault, has slightly increased its market share in Great Britain from 0.6 percent to 0.63 percent in the first seven months of the year. In total, 8,297 Dacia cars were registered in Great Britain, placing the Romanian car manufacturer on the 19th position, out of a total of 38 brands, as shown by data from the the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in Great Britain.

In July, the total number of Dacia cars registered in Great Britain totaled 1,303 while in June it amounted to 1,829.

Dacia car sales officially debuted in Great Britain in January but pre-orders for the Duster model could be placed as early as June 2012. Thn Sandero model has been available since January 2013.

The carmaker did better on the German and French markets. Thus, Dacia sales in Germany soared by 6.3 percent to 27,601 cars while in France registrations of Dacia vehicles hiked by 8.6 percent up to 54,610 in the first seven months of the year.

Dacia has exported over 2 million vehicles through its logistical center in Mioveni since 2005, according to company officials.

The carmaker said that the activity of its plants and logistics platform generated 7.7 percent of Romania’s exports in 2012, making it the largest exporter on the local market.
