Cristian Mungiu receives RON 4.5 mln from CNC for his next project

Cristian Mungiu obtained the highest level of financing at the latest edition of the project contest organised by the National Centre of Cinematography (CNC) for his movie, “RMN”. Coming in second, Tudor Giurgiu’s project will be financed with RON 2,013,000. Libra Film Production will produce Giurgiu’s next movie, “Apropeierea”.

“Fata muntilor”, directed by Catalin Mitulescu, received financing worth 2,089,000 from CNC and will be produced by Strada Film.

CNC had RON 30 million at its disposal to allocate to cinematographic projects in the first session of the context and the maximum value of a single credit has to be 15 percent (RON 4.5 million in this case). The budget was broken down into 15 percent for debut long form fiction, 5 percent (RON 1,5 mln) for fiction shorts, 10 percent (RON 3 mln) for documentaries, 10 percent for animation, 59 percent for long form fiction and  1 percent for development.

Radu Jude, Corneliu Porumboiu and Florin Piersic Jr are among the other directors that received financing for their project. The most money allocated for a short went to “Moebius” by Andreea Padurariu Hristescu (RON 194,000).
