The Romanian Competition Council has given the green light in the case of the takeover of the Prima TV station by businessman Cristian Burci.

The takeover was announced at the end of 2013 but it was pending the approval of the Competition Council.

Prima TV- meaning SBS Broadcasting Media, which holds the Prima TV license, and Prime Time Productions were acquired by Burci via the company Graffiti Red.

Burci bought Prima TV from ProSiebenSat.1 which sold its operations in Central and Eastern Europe. The other assets of the group, Kiss TV and the radio stations Kiss FM, Magic FM, One FM and Rock FM were sold to Antenna Group in Greece.

Cristian Burci has a solid background in media, being in fact the founder of Prima TV in 1997. Currently, Burci is also the owner of Click! tablid and Adevarul daily.
