Companies paid 6 pct more services in January

The turnover of market services provided mainly to companies increased by over 6 percent in January against the same month of 2014, both as gross and adjusted series, the highest growth being recorded by IT services, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The services’ business increased by 6.3 percent as gross series and as adjusted series by number of working days and seasonality by 6.5 percent.

The evolution was supported by increases in IT services’ activities (+ 26 percent as gross series, + 22.1 percent as adjusted series), transport (+ 10.7 percent as gross series, + 10.1 as adjusted series) and other services provided mainly to enterprises (+ 2.2 percent as gross series, + 3.7 percent as adjusted series).

Decreases were recorded in production activities in areas such as cinematography, video, television channels; broadcasting (-7.4 percent as gross series and 9.2 percent as adjusted series) and communications (-1.6 percent as gross series). The communication services increased in adjusted series by 0.1 percent.
