Coca-Cola sales volume in Romania increased at a high single-digit pace in the first quarter, reversing the decline recorded in the same period last year, due to the good performance achieved in terms of entire portfolio.

“There were good performances at portfolio level, supported by the organized distribution channel as well as by the launch of the new type of mineral water packaging of 1.25 liters. At the same time, Cappy Pulpy continues to register good performances, contributing to juice sales,” reads the financial report released on Friday by Coca-Cola HBC AG and quoted by Mediafax.

Coca-Cola HBC sales volume globally increased by 7.2 percent from 439 million boxes, with positive evolutions on all three segments, namely mature markets, developing markets and emerging markets, category in which Romania is also included, due to the higher number of sales days and to the Easter holiday.

The unit considered by Coca-Cola, the box, represents 5,678 liters or 24 doses of refreshment.

The company’s report nominates particularly the good performances achieved in Romania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Nigeria.

On the emerging markets, sales volume increased by 7.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

Net revenues from sales of the Coca-Cola HBC group rose by 1.7 percent to USD 1.35 billion (EUR 1.19 billion).
