Coca-Cola’s sales volume in Romania went down by 6 percent last year to 139.2 million bottle packs from 148.5 million bottle packs in 2013, amid higher competitiveness on the market and negative evolution of Coca-Cola carbonated beverages sales.
“The sales evolution in Romania, as per volume, continued its negative trend and registered a decline of over 5 percent in the fourth quarter. Consequently, for the whole year, the sold volumes fell by about 5 percent,” reads a Coca-Cola HBC report quoted by Mediafax.
This is the second consecutive year when Coca-Cola HBC Romania sales drop after, in 2013, the sold volumes fell by 9 percent.
At global level, the Coca-Cola HBC sales decreased by 2.8 percent last year, to 2 billion packs from 2.06 billion sold in 2013.
Net revenues coming from sales went down by 5.3 percent in 2014, to EUR 6.51 billion from EUR 6.84 billion the previous year. The profit after taxes went up from EUR 221.2 million in 2013 to EUR 294.8 million last year.
In Romania, Coca-Cola HBC has three factories, in Ploiesti, Timisoara and Vatra Dornei, as well as a 14 distribution centers’ network.
