Coca-Cola Hellenic, the largest Coca-Cola anchor bottler based in Europe, reported decreasing sales volumes on the local market in the first semester of this year due to economic conditions and the political turmoil.
“Volume in Romania declined in the low single-digits in both periods under review (e.n. Q2 and H1). Coupled with the recent political uncertainty, macroeconomic conditions remain challenging. Trademark Coca-Cola products’ volume grew in the low single-digits due to Coca-Cola Zero posting 36 percent growth. Package mix in the sparkling beverages category improved as single-serve volume increased by double-digits, supported by our successful OBPPC initiatives. We grew both volume and value share in the sparkling beverages category in the second quarter,” reads the company’s report.
Coca-Cola Hellenic operates four factories locally in Iasi, Timisoara, Ploiesti and Vatra Dornei where it bottles brands such as Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Schweppes, Cappy Tempo, Cappy Nectar, Nestea, Dorna, Dorna-Izvorul Alb, and Burn.
At group level, the company’s net sales revenue grew by 1 percent (EUR 3.4 billion) while volume declined by 2 percent (1.01 billion unit cases.
