Classical music season opens at the Romanian Athenaeum

The George Enescu Philharmonic returns on stage today, October 1, with a concert performed by the Italian violinist Uto Ughi and pianist Bruno Canno.

The concert is celebrating both the Italian Presidency of the European Union Council and the International Day of Music, with a program with pieces by Giuseppe Tartini, Antonin Dvorak, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Camille Saint-Saens and Pablo De Sarasate.

Violinist Uto Ughi has performed at the most important festivals in the world, with Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Washington Symphony Orchestra and many more. He was one of the students that George Enescu had

He plays on a 1744 Guarneri del Gesu violin and a 1701 Stradivarius, known as “Kreutzer”, as it belonged to the violinist to whom Beethoven dedicated his famous Sonata.

Tickets are available at the ticket office of the Romanian Athenaeum.
