Classic concerts this week

The National Opera, the Romanian Athenaeum and the Radio Broadcasting Company will bliss classic music lovers out this week.

The National Opera program consists of  a “Madame Butterfly” performance, on Nov 14, the ballet show “Giselle”, on Nov 15, the comic opera “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” on Nov 16, the romantic opera “Lohengrin” on Nov 17, the opera for children program called “Adventures in the land of opera” and the ballet performance “The sleeping beauty” on Nov 18. The Romanian Athenaeum offers on Nov 13 a Choir Concert conducted by Iosif Ion Prunner and the well known Tuesday evening session, where Octavian Moldovean, (flute) and Verona Maier (piano) will captivate the audience. On Nov 15 – 16, Tchaikovsky lovers will have the chance to attend several symphonic concerts. On Saturday, Nov 17, two recitals of piano and vocal will take place at the Athenaeum, while on Sunday, Nov 18, musicians prepared “Classic is fantastic,” a program for those who want to learn the secrets of classic music appreciation.

The Radio Broadcasting Company invites the public Wednesday, Nov 14, at a performance conducted by Cristian Brancusi. He will play Hayden at Sala Radio, while jazz lovers can go to Cuban Reunion, which will take place at Act Theatre. On Friday, Nov 16, violinist Alexandru Tomescu will perform under the wand of Gerd Schaller at Mihail Jora Concert Hall.
