ProVita Association, alongside a group of volunteers, organizes the second edition of the “100 for Children” charity marathon on Saturday, May 30. The non-competitive event, which will take place on the occasion of the International Children’s Day, on a distance of 100 kilometers, from Bucharest to Valea Plopului, aims to raise funds for 400 orphans.
Participants can choose to walk this distance by themselves, in teams of five (5 x 20 kilometers) or of two (2 x 50 km). The first edition of the “100 for Children” charity marathon last year was attended by 45 runners, who also had the role of fundraisers, each participant having his own page on the Galantom.ro platform, page promoted on their social networks in order to raise funds through online donations.
Following the event, they managed to gather RON 45,298 (EUR 10,230), through 452 donations, each participant having collected on average about RON 1,000 (EUR 226).
Both funds raised in the first edition and those raised in the second edition will be fully directed to complete a social center in Valenii de Munte, where abandoned or orphaned children will live when they go to high school.
