British holidaymakers flock to Eastern Europe as their destination of choice, according to the latest statistics released by the UK’s leading vacation rentals site, holidaylettings.co.uk, cited by traveldailynews.com.
In the first three months of 2014, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Albania and Estonia have all seen significant increases in demand from British tourists.
Kate Stinchcombe-Gillies, spokesperson for Holiday Lettings, said that demand could grow even more as accessibility of flights to these areas continues to improve and tourists are better informed about what those particular destinations have to offer.
“Many Eastern European countries offer stunning countryside as well as beautiful, historic cities that are increasingly cosmopolitan. More and more holidaymakers are taking the opportunity to travel somewhere slightly off the beaten track – and choosing to stay in a self-catering property allows them to really live like a local and enjoy that home from home experience.”
“The spike in demand also means that holiday home owners could see their property in high demand – year round appeal suggests that homes in these countries could have great investment potential as a holiday let.”
