BCR Asigurari de Viata appoints new director

The supervisory board at BCR Asigurari de Viata, the insurer controlled by Austria’s Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), named Sorin Mititelu as president of the directorate, replacing Florina Vizinteanu, who has spent eight years at the helm of the life insurer, which is the second biggest on the local market.

Mititelu will take over the new role starting January 1 2014, pending approval of the FSA. He has worked for over 20 years in the local financial sector. Starting 1999, he held different management positions at Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) and moved as head of the retail division at Banca Romaneasca between 2005 and 2007.

Since 2007, he has been executive director for the retail segments management division at BCR.
