Bancpost launches direct selling network

Bancpost announced on Monday it launched a network of direct selling agents (DSA), which acts as a new distribution channel designed to support retail clients in the acquisition of banking products.

The agents will provide personalized assistance to clients, helping them decide on the right product and preparing the required documentation for final approval. The new sales channel will focus on consumer loans and credit cards, which are most relevant for the target audience. The products’ portfolio can be changed depending on the market’s demand.

Kyriakos Xydis, executive vice-president at Bancpost, said: “Bancpost’s network of direct selling agents represents a new component in our multi-channel system, a high quality mobile and personalized service, available for clients at the time and place they are available.

“It is a service that makes Bancpost’s products more accessible, easier to understand and acquire, which brings more flexibility on the manner in which we bring value to our clients,” he added.

The first DSA team will start operations in Bucharest by year end, after going through an intensive sales training. The lender aims to reach 200 agents next year across the country.

Xydis said the bank will focus in the next period on extending and reshaping its multi-channel solutions. A new mobile banking service will be launched in the first quarter of next year, which comprises the features of the internet banking application and the bank’s website.

The vice-president added that Bancpost currently has over 250,000 internet banking users, which carry out online over 65 percent of the total transactions without cash.

Bancpost is one of biggest lenders in Romania, with over 1 million corporate, retail and institutional clients. The bank has over 570 ATMs, 8,100 POSs and 260 APSs (payment express) across the country.
