AXA Romania, part of French insurer AXA Group, registered a 31 percent hike in gross written premiums last year, and premiums for new insurance policies written by individual clients rose by 74 percent, while the overall insurance market expanded close to 1 percent.
The company has also registered a 20 percent hike in premiums for newly subscribed policies for corporate clients.
“These positive results have been sustained by investments in the distribution network and in the communication we had with Romanian consumers last year,” said Violeta Ciurel, president & CEO of AXA Romania.
“The results achieved by AXA are in line with the plans on the backdrop of current economic situation and reflect significant investments made by AXA for the future.
The insurer opened 10 more units to 51 and reached over 700 consultants. AXA launched last year four healthcare insurance packages and upgraded its insurance products that included a pension component, which became the most popular product.
AXA Group registered a net profit of EUR 4.15 billion last year and invested EUR 4 billion in new markets.
