Mobile data monthly average consumption increased by 40 percent in the second half of last year, according to data released on Monday by the Romanian National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communication (ANCOM).

Thus, the average user in Romania consumed monthly 155 MB mobile internet traffic in the second half of last year, increasing by 40 percent compared to the first half of 2014.

According to ANCOM, the average user of mobile telephony and mobile internet configured on Veritel.ro (telecom offers comparison app) consumes monthly 155 MB mobile internet traffic, sends 72 national SMS (of which 64 on-net and eight off-net) and speaks in average 202 on-net minutes (99 percent in mobile networks) and 47 off-net minutes.

The number of off-net minutes grew by 30 percent mainly due to the regulation of the maximum value of the termination rates in mobile networks, which entered into force last year on April 1.

According to the source quoted by Mediafax, an occasional user of mobile telephony and mobile internet consumes monthly 52 MB internet traffic, sends 24 national SMS (of which 21 on-net and three off-net) and speaks in average 67 on-net minutes and 15 off-net.

The intensive mobile telephony and mobile internet user consumes monthly 465 MB internet traffic, sends 216 national SMS (of which 192 on-net and 24 off-net) and speaks in average 606 on-net minutes and 141 off-net minutes.

According to statistics, the average fixed telephony user speaks monthly 45 on-net minutes and 32 off-net minutes.
