Accenture Romania has leased an additional 1,400 sqm in the West Gate office park in western Bucharest, announced today Genesis Development, the project’s developer and owner. Following this expansion, the management consulting and outsourcing company now occupies a total of 6,300 sqm in West Gate.

“Our tenants continued to grow this year and following Accenture’s expansion, West Gate’s occupancy rate has increased to 98 percent,” said Liviu Tudor, the founder and president of Genesis Development, adding that West Gate has from the beginning branded itself as project that offers its tenants the possibility to lease additional space.  West Gate features five office buildings and has grown over the past seven years from an initial 15,000 sqm GLA to 75,000 sqm GLA at present.

Other companies that have recently leased more space in West Gate include Ericsson (expanded from 12,000 sqm to 16,000 sqm), Societe Generale (expanded from 2,500 sqm to 5,000 sqm) and BPO provider WNS (expanded from 1,500 to 4,000 sqm). In addition to these tenants, West Gate also hosts companies like Dacia Renault, Siemens, PPD (Pharmaceutical Product Development), Panasonic, Citibank, Alpha Bank, Carestream Health and Medicover.

Genesis Development is also the developer and owner of the Novo Park office project in Pipera (75,000 sqm GLA) and the West Gate Studios private campus.

The revenues reported by the company in 2013 from renting the three projects amounted to EUR 33 million, up 5 percent y-o-y. The growth came after the developer completed the fifth office building of the West Gate project (15,000 sqm) and slightly increased the occupancy rate, according to company data.

After opening one office building after another, both before and after the crisis, Genesis Development wants to focus on consolidating the business this year and plans to invest in upgrades, Tudor told BR in an interview this May.
