32 medals for Romanian athletes’ delegation at Balkan Championship

The young Romanian athletes won 15 gold medals (8 by the men, 7 by the women), 10 silver (4 by the men, 6 by the women) and 7 bronze ones (2 by the men and 5 by the women), in a bad weather conditions at the manner the Balkan Athletics Championship of Juniors II, obtaining 32 medals in total at the competition that took place in Sliven, Bulgaria.

According to the Romanian Athletics Federation, the gold titles were won by Peter Razmives (11.09), Ioana Gheorghe (12.05 ) — 100 m, Madalin Gheban (1:54,56), Diana Bogos (2:11.92) — 800 m, Gabriela Doroftei (4:36.74 ) — 1,500 m, Laviniu Chis (8:43.42), Maria Ifteni (9:37.70) — 3,000 m, Cristian Nedelcu — 110 m hurdles, the men’s 4x100m relay ( Homiuc/ Bitan/Chiorpec/Razmives — 42.39) and the women’s 4×100 m relay ( Puscasu/ Anitei/Blazer Imola/ Gheorghe — 47.74), Alexandru Novac (69.04 m) — javelin, Rares Toader (21.45 m), Diana Voicu (15.20 m) — shot put, Gabriel Bitan (7.25 m ) — long jump, Georgiana Anitei (13.43 m) — triple jump.

Silver medals went to Zeno Moraru (49.10) — 400 m, Delia Irimia (2:15.38) — 800 m, Cristian Stoean (4:01.83) — 1.500 m, Violeta Dan (7:08.19) — 2,000 m hurdles, Adelina Sandu (14.10) — 100 m hurdles, Denis Mihai Both (66.38 m), Florina Necsoiu (48.51 m) — javelin, Raluca Oprica (5 .82 m) — long jump, Nicusor Duduc (2.00 m) — pole vault, Alexandra Mihai (12.42 m) — triple jump.

The third on the podium were bronze Costin Homiuc (11.23), Diana Puscasu (12.74) — 100 m, Bolgarka Blazer Imola (57.31) — 400 m, Ioan Benta (5:45.36), Andreea Purcaru (4:14.55) — 2.000 m hurdles, Carla Sescu (45.76 m) — discus, Andreea Bejan (1.63 m) — pole vault.

The next Balkan event will be in Vatra Dornei, Suceava county, Romania, and where athletes will participate at Balkan Mountain Running Championships on June 15.
