10,000 Romanians to spend the May 1st holiday abroad

Over 10,000 Romanians will spend the May 1st mini-holiday this year abroad, up 10 pct compared to 2014, the seaside resorts and the city breaks being the most wanted destinations. Although the majority of tourists choose Bulgaria or vacations below EUR 100, in recent years it can be noticed a new category of tourists who want to combine the city breaks with the seaside for a price much lower than in high season.

“The May 1st holiday is most often planned weeks in advance and offers are being selected firstly considering the price. If we offer fares 30 percent lower than in high season, Romanians are tempted to give up to Bulgaria, in favor of other more attractive offers, even if slightly more expensive. This year we sold very well the stays in Rome, Lisbon and Cyprus, in the last two tourists being also able to go to the beach as the weather will allow it. For such a holiday the budget is around EUR 500 per person,” stated in a release Daniela Dumitrica, marketing director with Parallel 45.

A 5-day circuit in Rome which includes flight, transfer and accommodation at a 4 star hotel with breakfast included, group and tour attendant costs EUR 389, excluding airport taxes. The package price is about 25 percent lower than in high season.

The Lisbon circuit includes three nights’ accommodation in a 4-star hotel with breakfast included, flight and transfer, half a day city tour by bus and local guide in Lisbon as well as Romanian group attendant – all of these for a price of EUR 420, reduced from EUR 455. Airport taxes are not included.

In Cyprus offers start from EUR 395 for a 7 nights half board stay, flight and transfer. Airport taxes are not included in the price.

Other circuits booked by 90 percent so far are those in Amsterdam, Helsinki and Sankt Petersburg.
