Young Liberal on cards for Foreign Minister seat

Cioroianu confirmed that the vote gave him the support of 28 of 29 members of the PNL political board. He said that if confirmed as foreign minister he would renounce his membership of the European Parliament.
Ungureanu was forced to resign earlier this year at PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu's request. The minister had failed to inform the government that two Romanian workers were suspected of espionage activities and detained by US troops in Iraq. The workers were later cleared and released, and returned to Romania.
