Nordex, a German developer and manufacturer of wind farms, will set up a branch in Romania, in the following months, thanks to good prospects for the Romanian renewable energy market. The company has already received two orders for a total of eight wind farms with a projected output of 20 megawatts. These wind farms are expected to start operations by the end of 2011. The German manufacturer considers the wind market potential to be excellent in Romania, with a forecasted wind farm output of 3.000 megawatts by 2015.
“Our target is to achieve a significant market share. The first projects are providing us with important experience for this”, announces Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, CSO Nordex.
Nordex has installed over 4.681 wind turbines with a total rated output of more than 7.100 megawatts. The company has offices and subsidiaries in 19 countries. Nordex Group posted a loss of EUR 4.1 million for the first semester of 2011, but received orders totaling EUR 522 million in the same time period.
