The Rompetrol Group to start exploration at Satu Mare site

“Our company plans to start drilling using exploration well at the Satu Mare perimeter starting Q2,” The Rompetrol Group (TRG) officials told Business Review. According to company officials, the company has Exploration plans for other perimeters as well. “After evaluating the potential of other perimeters, the TRG will start a campaign of geological drilling wells during 2012 and 2013 in all perimeters chartered by the company.”

The Rompetrol Group, through the Exploration and Production (E&P) segment, closed in 2004 – 2007 concession contracts for a period of 30 years for five perimeters: Satu Mare, Graju, Nereju, Focsani and Golesti. Currently, as the concession only aims to explore the five perimeters, to identify and evaluate possible hydrocarbon accumulations.

Company officials tell BR that regarding E&P strategy for this year, the concession rights will be maintained for all 5 perimeters, with a focus on strengthening current partnerships and identify others to develop assessment activities of the exploration potential.
