Zhanat Tussupbekov, 35, is the new CEO of Rompetrol Group starting May 21, replacing Saduokhas Meraliyev who will remain member of the administration board. Prior to his appointment, he was general director of KazMunaiGas – Refining & Marketing.
Tussupbekov has worked in the oil and gas industry since 2005, holding executive positions within the Kazakh firm. He was executive director and deputy general director for KazMunaiGas – Refining & Marketing and general director of the distribution arm of the company KazMunaiGas Onimderi.
The Rompetrol CEO is a graduate of the Faculty of Legal Science within the Karaganda State University and the Faculty of Economic Science within the Gumilev Eurasia University. He got a masters degree in the chemical technology of organic substances at the University of Technology and Business in Kazakhstan.
KazMunaiGas, the sole shareholder in Rompetrol Group, has also decided to appoint Timur Azimov as vice-president of Trading and Azamat Zhangulov as deputy general director in the financial department of the group.
