The Romanian market of home gas boilers amounted to 135,000 units in 2011, slightly similar to the previous year, says Ariston Thermo Romania, a leading player in the heating business.
The local market reached around EUR 75 million last year, but the average price of gas boilers decreased by 2 percent y/y.
“We are counting on the growth of the market this year, and the largest acquisitions of gas boilers will be made in areas where CETs have heating distribution issues and heating prices have increased,” says Catalin Draguleanu, sales director of Ariston Thermo Romania.
Draguleanu says the economic situation and the reduction in purchasing power made Romanian families delay the acquisition of independent heating systems.
Ariston’s business in Romania totaled EUR 30 million in 2011, broadly similar to the previous year. Around 65 percent of the Romanian business of Ariston is ensured by wall-hung gas boilers, while 25 percent is represented by electrical boilers. The company is also involved in air conditioning, heating pumps and solar systems.
