FINS, the only financial institution in Central and Eastern Europe that offers student loans for EU citizens that want to study a Bachelor or a Master Degree abroad, in Europe, has seen an annual increase in demand of more than 100% during the period 2020-2022.

In the last two years, FINS has funded more than 200 EU students that currently study in Europe, and this year, an increase of at least 50% in funding requests is expected. The total value of student loans granted by FINS so far has reached 4,000,000 EUR. Funding requests come in 65% for Bachelor programs and 35% for Master programs.

Young people that wish to further pursue their studies abroad, in Europe, are those that plan for an ambitious future. They have a strategy; they want to achieve performance and they are willing to invest and put in the necessary effort to achieve greatness in their future careers. The proof is in the studies they choose, which are amongst the most promising: from Bachelor programs in Pharmacy, Medicine, Computer Science, Advanced Motorsport Engineering, Animation and VFX, Business, Law or Geospatial Data Analysis, to Master programs in Precision Cancer Medicine or Nuclear Technologies” says Alexandru Ghiță, President of FINS. We have hundreds of students for whom FINS is the only financial solution they have to pursue their educational and professional goals, and we have every reason to finance the studies of those that wish to achieve excellence within their chosen fields“, adds Alexandru Ghiță, President of FINS.

The Netherlands remains the top choice for young people that have applied for student loans in Europe. Belgium, Germany, Italy and France are also in the top 5 countries preferred by students, followed by Ireland, Spain, Denmark, Austria, Finland and Sweden.

Hundreds of young people from Romania, Greece, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, France, or Slovakia, applied for a FINS study loan in order to continue their Bachelor’s or Master’s studies at universities in the top 500 worldwide, such as the University of Oxford, University of Groningen, Delft University of Technology, University of Amsterdam, Istituto Marangoni, or Griffith College.

Loans of up to 25,000 EUR with a grace period throughout the study years and up to 12 months after graduation, and a repayment period of up to 10 years

Living costs in Western Europe are higher than in Central or Eastern Europe, and this is a real barrier to young people wanting to study abroad. While government loans offered by some countries can only cover tuition fees, with FINS, students can customize their study budget with the help of our financial consultants to ensure that they can cover both tuition and related expenses: rent, transportation, food, teaching materials, various types of technological equipment, medical insurance, emergencies, unexpected expenses or even entertainment,” says Alexandru Ghiță, President of FINS.

High school students can apply to FINS from the 11th grade to continue their undergraduate studies in Europe, and undergraduate students and graduates can apply for funding to study a Master’s degree in another European country or even a second Bachelor’s degree. Young people can benefit from financing of up to 25,000 EUR and can obtain the loan without any co-signers, guarantees, income or work experience. Moreover, students will start repaying the loan only after graduation and they will benefit from a grace period of 6 to 12 months after completing the last year of their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

FINS has currently two guarantee agreements signed together with the European Investment Fund, under the European Union’s initiatives, SLGF and EFSI Skills & Education, implemented by FINS at European level. These guaranteed lines allow EU citizens who want to study a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in another EU member state to benefit from financing without the need of a co-signer, income, work experience, or real estate guarantees.

Funding for studies in Romania

Students who want to continue their studies in Romania can also receive funding of up to 25,000 euros if they attend EA – The Entrepreneurship Academy courses, the only entrepreneurship faculty in Romania.
