The American International School of Bucharest (AISB) launches its annual Scholarship competition for students who will enter the 9th grade next academic year. To provide more details on the program, AISB will host an evening event on the school campus, on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at 18:00.
The scholarship program is an important AISB tradition that began in 1998. So far, over 50 students have benefited from their involvement in this program.
“AISB’s scholarship program is a testament to the school’s commitment to developing a diverse and inclusive community. These scholarships offer the opportunity for students of any educational background, to access the wonderful opportunities offered by AISB, regardless of their financial circumstances. In turn, AISB benefits from our scholarship students’ outstanding contributions,” says Rachel Caldwell, School Director.
For the 2024 – 2025 school year, three scholarships will be available for ninth graders.
Scholarships are awarded on academic and financial criteria. The commission for granting scholarships consists of the Director of the school, the Principal of the secondary school, the managers of Admissions and Finance, two teachers and a member of the Parents’ Committee. The AISB scholarship covers four years of tuition, lunch, co-curricular activities, trips, exam fees and laptops. More details about the program can be accessed here, on the school’s website.
The competition will take place in three stages (eliminatory):
When making the final decision, the committee focuses on the impact that the scholarship would have on the student’s life as well as the impact that the student would have on the AISB community. The committee aims to choose up to three students who will engage with the community and contribute actively and positively to all aspects of school life. The final decision will be announced by the beginning of May 2024.
