Two entrepreneurs with over 15 years of experience in the training market and software development have launched Colltrain, a platform that runs remote collaborative training activities in the LIVE mode.

This way, Alexandru Cojocaru (CTO) and Marian Știrbescu (CEO), Electronics and Telecommunications graduates, with 15 years of experience in developing and implementing business software for medium and big companies in various industries like telecom, retail, and banking, have created Colltrain, the platform in which participants can work in teams and experience learning in an environment that allows them to express themselves freely and lets  them interact productively.

In practice, anybody who knows how to use a web browser on a PC or Mac can use Colltrain from anywhere in the world. Trainers frequently use Colltrain alongside apps like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet when delivering training courses.

Alexandru Cojocaru, with corporate experience in industries like telecom, and software development, coordinates the development and maintenance of the product, and Marian Știrbescu has the product manager and handles the product sales on the European market. For the short term, the expansion plans for Colltrain aim for markets like Great Britain, France, Hungary and Poland.

“The main benefits of the digitalization of learning activities are the opportunity to continue the business of training in the online realm, the unique learning experience and the high level of attendee engagement, as well as the availability of a library with predefined activities for a quick start when delivering remotely. And last but not least, if they wish to, trainers can create their activity templates by using their own designs”, stated Marian Stirbescu, CEO and co-founder of Colltrain.

Colltrain’s clients are training companies, freelancers and internal training departments that can use the platform through a monthly or yearly plan. More and more companies are starting to deliver remote training in LIVE mode and have decided to transform collaborative in-class activities for online interaction. It is Colltrain’s opinion that the future of training activities is mainly digital. Video platforms offer the possibility to hear and see each other, and the capability of using breakout rooms implements experiential activities possible. This way, training activities will mainly transition to online: the total cost falls to a third of traditional training, and attendees feel more safe and open in the digital environment. Through digitalization, training can reach employees that didn’t have access to learning activities.

Through digitalisation, the training can reach other employee categories that would usually be overlooked for development, and the flexibility of remote training programs (for example the possibility to deliver the experience in 4-hour chunks) can help employees better balance the learning and work time.

In developing and implementing the go-to-market strategy, the Colltrain founders are facing the need to transition from pre-seed operating mode to developing a full-fledged company (with dedicated sales, marketing customer service, etc.) and with the challenges of funding the scaling of the operation.

For 2021 and 2022, the Colltrain founders aim to grow the number of clients from mid and large sized companies with internal training departments and develop new features and activity templates that support online team building events, including new games.

The company is pursuing a partnership development approach with content creators and developing a marketplace inside Colltrian that will offer the partners the opportunity to promote and monetize their creations.
