Romanian group Eurolines which runs a network of more than 57 travel agencies, has reported sales worth RON 121.7 million (approximately EUR 27 million) for the first semester of this year, up 47 percent against the same period of last year.
Touring Europabus, the company which runs the Eurolines travel agencies as well as those opened under the franchise agreement with tour operator TUI Travel PLC, generated 60 percent of the group’s total turnover. The company has reported sales increases for coach transport on international routes (18 percent), air tickets (45 percent) and vacation packages sold through the Eurolines and TUI TravelCenter travel agencies (116 percent).
Overall, tourism related sales for the entire Eurolines group have increase by 104 percent for H1 2012 y-o-y.
Eurolines took over TUI’s operations in Romaniaand the Republicof Moldovalast year. Part of the contract signed with the German tour operator, the company must open 100 TUI TravelCenter agencies by the end of 2013. So far, Eurolines has opened 34 travel agencies for individuals, two offices for corporate clients and resellers and on-line agency. The company also runs 23 travel agencies under the Eurolines brand.
Eurolines consists of 14 companies inRomania,Germanyand the Republic of Moldova.
