Christian Tour, the largest tour operator in Romania, launched direct charter flights to Larnaca, Cyprus, at an event attended by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus, the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Romania and several 4* and 5* partner hotels in Cyprus. Flights will have a weekly frequency, operating every Friday, starting June 7.

“Last year, anticipating the growing interest of Romanians towards this popular holiday destination in the Mediterranean area, also known as the Island of Aphrodite, we did a small test with a few groups of clients”, says Cristian Pandel, CEO & President of Christian Tour. “It was a success, so we decided to have weekly charter flights to Larnaca starting this summer. From autumn, we are even planning regular scheduled flights to Cyprus, because there is a lot of interest in the business area as well, and we will be operating, via AnimaWings, three flights a week to this destination.”

For flights to Larnaca, AnimaWings – which recently became 100% Romanian after Christian Tour Holding SA acquired a 51% majority stake in Aegean Airlines – will use its new Airbus A220 aircraft.

” These are very modern and reliable aircraft, based on a new concept that meets all environmental requirements and passenger demands. The aircraft have low fuel consumption, low CO2 emissions, less noise pollution and a very high degree of passenger comfort, with fewer seats per row and considerably more space for each passenger,” says Cristian Pandel.

For this summer, tourists can purchase either the Christian Tour holiday packages to Cyprus, with accommodation at the best partner hotels, or just the charter flights from 7 June to 27 September.

“We have carefully selected the hotels we propose in our offer, as we do every time in a new destination. And thanks to our extensive partnership and the support we have from the Cypriot authorities, we have been able to obtain very competitive rates for clients wishing to visit this dream destination, along with excellent accommodation and dining conditions. We hope that all this will attract the interest of our tourists and their love for this island, and why not, in the years to come, we will have even more direct flights to Cyprus”, adds the Christian Tour official.
