TELUS International will employ over 500 people by the end of June 2019 to support the expansion of its operations in Romania. Most new employees will work for two recognized brands – an online rental platform and Koodo Mobile, a Canadian mobile service provider.

The recruitment process started earlier this year through the launch of the “Make Your Own Success Story” campaign for people who speak multiple languages (French, Spanish, Italian, English, German, Russian, and Portuguese). New employees will support customers in Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, England and the United States.

“As Koodo Mobile grows, our need for English and French assistance services is growing proportionately for our customers,” says Dave Lowther, Operations Manager, Koodo Mobile. “As a Canadian who has visited TELUS International headquarters in Bucharest many times, I have always been pleasantly surprised by the existence of an employee-oriented culture, a friendly atmosphere and modern facilities as well as the ethics of the Romanians and their ability to speak multiple languages.”

“Due to the huge business potential, Romania is one of the most important outsourcing areas in Europe. In 2019, more than 125,000 people work in over 265 businesses and startups in the outsourced business services industry. Romania hosts more offshore and near-shore centers than any other South Eastern European country. In addition, its reputation as an attractive outsourcing destination has a steady growth of 10 percent annually,” added Gregoire Vigroux, vice president of Marketing & Corporate Communications for Europe at TELUS International.

“In all rankings of associations, organizations and agencies, Romania has risen steadily due to a number of unique advantages: the quality-price ratio, the rapidly growing technology hub profile, and the abundance of multilingual professionals and talents. We want to take advantage of the benefits offered by Romania and continue to grow in 2019 by attracting the best talent that the labor market can offer,” concludes Vigroux.

The company’s offices are located in the AFI Park complex in Bucharest, the 8,200 sqm of class A premises being located next to one of the largest malls in Romania. This positioning is an added advantage, in addition to easy access to the location, for employees who want to enjoy a wide variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment during breaks or after work.

TELUS International currently has 1,500 employees in Romania and is differentiated among employers by offering one of the most competitive benefit packages on the market. Programs and initiatives devoted to the need to develop team members are priorities. An example of this is the TELUS Language Academy, the program that provides access to intensive English and French courses: for six weeks, new employees are remunerated and develop their language skills with the help of trainers, who are then assigned to projects.

The health and happiness of team members are top priorities for the company, including the benefits package with health insurance, transport remittance, dedicated offers to mobile operators and banking providers as well as exclusive discounts at AFI Palace Cotroceni.

The TELUS International team understands the direct relationship between the success of the company and the welfare of the communities where its members live and work. The “We give where we live” philosophy is an essential part of TELUS International culture, illustrated by both TELUS Days of Giving – a global volunteer event – and a varied calendar of charitable activities through which team members can experience the joy of share and take care of their communities.

TELUS International Europe is a provider of multilingual customer experience solutions in the digital environment dedicated to business processes and has been active on the Romanian market since 2004. Over 6,000 employees in the six locations in Bucharest, Craiova, Sofia and Plovdiv offer solutions customer support, IT support and innovative services in more than 40 languages.
