The 4th edition of Bitcoin Romania Chess Open has brought together elites and enthusiasts from the world of chess

The fourth edition of the chess tournament Bitcoin Romania Chess Open, organized by Bitcoin Romania in collaboration with the Chess Academy, took place on May 7-8 at the International High School of Informatics in Bucharest.

The event also saw the launch of the three albums about chess, “Art in Chess and in Life”, written by Florin Gheorghiu, an emblematic Romanian player who competed with 9 world champions throughout his career, winning against the famous American player Bobby Fischer.

In his new book, the international Grandmaster and multiple national champion tells about his life and writes about the most beautiful chess games he played. The book has been printed and launched with the support of Bitcoin Romania.

The largest cryptocurrency trading platform on the local market, Bitcoin Romania is the sponsor and supporter of the chess tournament for professional and amateur players.

“Bitcoin Romania is actively involved in promoting chess among young people in Romania and in supporting chess players, amateurs, or professionals. At the end of the event, prizes worth over 13,000 lei, cups, and medals, were awarded. The winners of the first place in the general classification of each tournament also received as a prize the collection of three volumes signed by Florin Gheorghiu.

The referees of this edition were Dinu Nicula, Florin Coman, Gabriel Georgescu, Bogdan Ulian and Roxana Firaru.

Bitcoin Romania Chess Open was attended by International Grandmaster Mircea Sergiu-Aurelian Pavlov, President of the Romanian Chess Federation Vlad Ardeleanu, Master and Federal Coach of the Romanian Chess Federation Constantin Ionescu, President of the Chess Academy Alecsandru Oţetea, Vice President of the Bucharest Chess Association Grigore, Dorin Moise from ArtPress Publishing House, as well as Ionuț Iamandi, publicist, author and journalist, a great lover of chess and the Romanian chess history.
