How do sportsbooks launch in new markets like Kansas?

Kansas has legalized sports betting, so that’s where we are now! While we await the product’s commercial debut.

When the Kansas legislature agreed to SB 84 in 2022, the Kansas Lottery was expanded to include internet sports betting. With the House’s 73-49 vote on Thursday and the Senate’s 21-13 vote on Friday, the new legislation is going to the governor. A few weeks later, on May 12th, Gov. Laura Kelly signed a bill making sports betting legal in Kansas. Let’s take a break and watch the battle between the nation’s leading online sportsbook companies.

Is there a date for the commencement of online sports betting in Kansas?

Kansas sports betting is legal, but that doesn’t mean it’s live. Sports betting is not yet permitted in Kansas. Bets may not be placed until months or perhaps years after the governor signs a sports betting bill into law. The good thing is that we already know that Kansas will be short. Kansas is soon to host the most popular sportsbook apps.

A provision in the legislation states that the law will take effect on July 1. Online sportsbooks will be able to begin the application procedure with state authorities on August 15th (the Kansas Lottery and Racing and Gaming). Online sportsbooks in Kansas will be able to go live as soon as licenses are distributed.

As of the present, our best prediction is that the first legal bets will be accepted in November or December of this year. According to the state’s sports betting statute, sportsbooks in Kansas must be operational by January 1, 2023. Legal gambling will be available in Kansas by 2023, regardless of what occurs.

Online sportsbooks confirmed in Kansas

●      Sportsbook BallyBet

Bally Bet is coming to Kansas. Bally Bet and Draftkings will hold three sports betting licenses at Boot Hill Casino. Kansas is set to legalize sports betting in May of 2022. Bally’s will be able to continue expanding in the Midwest thanks to its new relationship in Kansas. The Bally Sports Kansas City TV station broadcasts local sports in Missouri and Kansas. Bally owns and runs the channel.

●      BetMGM Sportsbook

One of the world’s largest casino businesses, MGM Resorts, has entered the sports betting market. Their customers have access to various products and services and regular specials. With the help of Boyd Gaming and the Kansas Star Casino, BetMGM has access to the Kansas sports betting market. The multi-state cooperation between MGM and Boyd struck in 2018 is still producing dividends. I believe they’ll do well in Kansas.

●      Caesars Sportsbook

However, there isn’t a single retail sportsbook operated by Caesars in Kansas. I found one instantly. A deal between Caesars and the Kansas Crossing Casino in Pittsburg was announced just a few days following the legalization of sports betting. Caesars Sportsbook is coming to Kansas.

●      DraftKings Sportsbook

Boot Hill Casino and DraftKings Sportsbook established a collaboration in May. A sportsbook operated by DraftKings Sportsbook will open at Boot Hill Casino. A more permanent location for DraftKings Sportsbook will be erected closer to the casino’s cashier in the previous high-limit section.

DraftKings’ daily fantasy sports (DFS) activity in Kansas is permitted. When new states legalize sports betting, DraftKings Sportsbook is always at the top of the list. On January 1, 2018, they became the first and only licensed online bookmaker in the form of New Jersey.

●      FanDuel

FanDuel Sportsbook might be the finest in the country. Simple to use, it’s also expanding. A collaboration with Boyd Gaming, which operates the Kansas Star Casino, has been established by FanDuel. We can’t fathom Kansas allowing sports betting without having FanDuel Sportsbook.

●      Barstool Sportsbook

Barstool is the sportsbook of Penn National Gaming. Penn National, which owns Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, is expected to have a sportsbook at the facility. This proposes a mobile app for Barstool Sportsbook KS.

●      Caesars Sportsbook

However, there isn’t a single retail sportsbook operated by Caesars in Kansas. Mobile sports betting will most likely be offered in Kansas through a partnership with a casino. Thanks to their wide range of banking choices, depositing and withdrawing money is a breeze.

Conclusion

Regrettably, Kansas does not permit residents to engage in gambling associated with internet casinos. On the other hand, this will probably alter shortly. Internet casinos may soon become available in Kansas as the state’s newly established sports betting market continues to gain traction.

If online sports betting were to become legalized, it would help clarify how to show online casinos. This would result in several various platforms looking to enter the market. If online casino gambling is legalized, well-known online casinos, including BetMGM Casino Online, FanDuel Casino Online, Caesars Casino Online, PointsBet Casino Online, and BetRivers Casino Online, may decide to relocate their operations.
