Romania’s wholesale trade rose 12 pct in April; business services up 9 pct

The wholesale trade in Romania grew by 12 percent in April compared to the same month of 2017, while business services sector rose by 9 percent, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data show.

Compared to March, the wholesale trade turnover increased by 4.1 percent in seasonally adjusted series in April, while the business services sector rose by 2.1 percent.

In the first four months of this year, the wholesale trade grew by 8.2 percent year-on-year and the business services sector increased by 8.1 percent.

Last year, Romania’s wholesale trade, excluding the trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles, increased by 7.5 percent compared to 2016.
