Romania’s industrial production increased by 7.3 percent year-on-year in July as the key-manufacturing sector sped up output, while the turnover index of industry rose by 16.5 percent, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data showed on Tuesday.
Compared with June 2018, the industrial production declined by 3 percent as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality.
Production in the manufacturing sector, the largest sector of Romania’s industry, grew by 8.2 percent year-on-year, mining and quarrying increased by 4.2 percent, while energy output rose by 2.8 percent in July, according to official data.
The recovery of manufacturing production had an important impact on turnover of Romania’s industry, which climbed 16.5 percent year-on-year in July.
In the first seven months of 2018, the industrial production increased by 4.6 percent year-on-year and industry’s turnover rose by 14.2 percent.
The new orders in manufacturing increased by 29.3 percent year-on-year in July 2018.
