Romanian managers expecting stable employee numbers in industry, constructions and services over the next 3 months

Data published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics shows that company managers in Romania are expecting the number of employees in industry, constructions and services to remain relatively stable until October.

The balance of answers indicates managers’ perception over the dynamic of a phenomenon, which should not be mistaken for the growth or decrease rate of a statistic index. The percentage circumstantial balance is obtained as the difference between the percentage of managers who chose the positive version of the phenomenon and those who chose the negative version.

In manufacturing, managers predict a relatively stable production volume (+5 percent balance of answers). A growth trend is expected for tobacco manufacturing activities (+33 percent), followed by beverage manufacturing (+27 percent) and base pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products manufacturing (+26 percent).

In terms of the number of employees, the managers are expecting stability with a +1 percent balance of answers across the manufacturing industry. Prices of industrial products are expected to moderately rise in the next three months (+7 percent).

In the construction sector, managers are estimating a moderate growth of production (+12 percent balance of answers). They also expect relative stability in the number of employees (+4 percent). The prices of construction works are expected to moderately increase (+14 percent).

In retail, managers are predicting a growth tendency in the economic activity (+22 percent balance of answers).

The order volumes for suppliers of merchandise for commercial units is expected to grow (+18 percent). Employers are expecting a moderate growth in the number of employees over the following three months (+13 percent).

For the upcoming period, commercial company managers are estimating a moderate growth for retail prices (+14 percent).

Turnover in the services sector, managers think, will see relative stability (+5 precent). The number of employees in services are also expected to remain stable (+1 percent). According to managers, the prices of services will also be maintained (+3 percent).
